I kinda said so so much so soon
All my ideals promised you:

I'd be careful to watch over you
But I was so scared; that it defined you:

So sweet a soul in sickness...
    Hard to see past it
    But with bravery flown,

Exposed - I was the weaker

Might I consol if you've not asked?
Should it divide, or should it pass?
Or lift a veil pulled by the goat?
Extinguish a lie in bitterness?

    Say what you will
    But He has something better.
    Not in heaven or hell

     - but in green pastures.

    You said we'll share melody
    without worry
I'll see you in the Lord's Kingdom

     - soon, surely.

Can I look back in a wake where I should
have met with your eyes? Held your hand?
Liittle work I know it could have been
to prepare for a last

So soon to take your leave
    But not in hurry
If I can live by what it means -
    "See you soon, Amy."

    Say what you will
    But He has something better.
    Not in heaven or hell

     - but in green pastures.
